Was my message sent to someone on a dating site creepy or? {rsstitle}

Question by yumiyukai: Was my message sent to someone on a dating site creepy or?
So I recently decided to try online dating, the girls I’ve been with are either confusing, playing games, or just don’t know what they want.

So I sent her a message.

“You look gorgeous. I’d like to chat sometime, do you have any instant messenger?”

Was that too like overboard, creepy, or a little weird?

    It doesn’t sound creepy, but it does sound generic.

    if you think about it, you have not given any indication you have read her profile at all. Any woman reading that would just assume you copied and pasted it into a message and you have been doing that with every attractive woman you see online.

    My advice would be if you really like this woman, read her profile in depth (this is not creepy since if she has put it up, it is there to be read) and ask her a question specific to her profile. Do not ask for things that might sound stalkerish like where she works or likes to go out.

    For example if she says she likes going to the cinema, you can ask her what films she likes and what was the last thing she saw at the cinema. If she says she likes music ask her what bands she is into, etc.

    Be sure to say something along the lines of “I was reading your profile and I notice you like…” and then ask the question.

    That will get her interest and show you have actually read her profile and not just looked at her picture
