While one of the main characters of this book is a very likeable dog, you don’t have to be a dog lover to love this book. Maggie is a warm, engaging character, the type of gal you’d like to have over for coffee or to chat with over a glass of wine. While she goes through a rough patch, she makes new friends and is resourceful and clever enough to create a new and improved life for Kona and herself. This was a can’t put down read for me, quick and thoroughly entertaining.

This is a book that stays with you. It is easy to read, and the situations are so human. Maggie is full of doubts after her divorce from a cheating husband. To accompany this woman through her struggles is to see her expand, analyse and re-think her life as she strives for something better. I sometimes abandon books mid-way. Not the case here. This one keeps your interest until the end. A very enjoyable read.

There are so many books to read that drain the energy from your soul…this book puts all the energy back!!! A real-life difficult situation is treated with wisdom and humor…and put into perspective by the love of a great dog. Fabulous summer read when you want drama…but drama that lifts your spirit. I loved this feel-good book and recommend it highly!
