A Moderately Entertaining Crime Series,
Having watched many of the Investigation Discovery programs I found this one just average. The stories themselves were quite shocking and the half hour format is one that I prefer over the hour one. This program is appealing in that I think everyone has had a date go bad at least once in their lives. Here the dates don’t just go bad they go deadly and this is what engages the viewer to continue to watch the series.
I would say my biggest problem is the constant reinactment, on television it would be after a commercial break, of what has just happened prior to the break. In a thirty minute program it takes up far too much time that could be alloted to new material and to really build up the suspense to higher degree.
I would say it you are interested in these types of programs I would recommend it with some hesitation. The quality of the stories is there. It would just be up to the viewer if they felt the absorbing content was worth the repetitive and often slow nature of the show.

|Dates From Hell Series from The Discovery Channel I.D.,
Well made and tightly edited suspense docu-drama told from the victim’s perspective. Even though it is about a horrible crime, it has a “just” and happy ending. I appear as “The Stranger” the reluctant hero.

I was disappointed with this show. I honestly thought that these situations could have been avoided. Some of the choices people made were bad ones and I was also mad when I realized that SEVERAL OF THESE EPISODES WERE RIP OFFS as ARE SAME EPISODES I PURCHASED UNDER “I SURVIVED”.
