Exactly What My Daughter Needs!!,
“Concerned Mom’s” review piqued my interest, and here’s why: I’m worried because my daughter goes to a public high school, and I know she’s dealing with this stuff every day. One of the girls in her class is pregnant (at age 16), and she knows a few kids who say they’re gay. It terrifies me what she hears at school and from her friends, and I know I can’t protect her from that. I feel like we as Christian parents often stick our heads in the sand and pretend these issues don’t exist, but we do our kids a huge disservice when we ignore their very real issues and let the world answer the questions for them. I suppose this Bible may be too “real-life” for some sheltered girls out there, but I know that this is exactly what I want my daughter to have-a Bible that tells her what God says about these hot topics. I bought the Bible for my daughter, and she loves it. I am so grateful that someone had the creativity and the courage to write something that’s so right on with where girls are today.

I Like It,
I got this Bible when I was 16 and I wouldn’t give it to anyone younger unless they were mature enough to handle the topics inside. I think that it’s not wrong for these subjects to be brought up, but if it’s something a girl has never been exposed to, then it certainly can be damaging.
I personally have enjoyed what I’ve read within my Bible. I learned about things my own family wasn’t willing to talk to me about. I think it’s good so girls can know what the Bible says about things that affect us in our world today.
Like another person said, the cover could do with a makeover. It is quite misleading.

Very Good for Young Girls,
I got a couple of these for young friends who are interested in reading the Bible. The Reina-Valera version is so complicated, and a big thick impersonal book is intimidating and uninviting for a vibrant young girl.
This True Images Bible is very attractive and inviting for young girls, and I am certain that my young friends will enjoy reading this.
The book is peppered with focus stories, commentaries and other effects that facilitate the reader to contemplate how the related Bible passages relate to them and their lives. These commentaries deal with subjects like God’s love, prayer, immigration, loneliness, family, drugs, various topics related to sex and dating as well as other topics of interest to young people.
The sex and dating subjects may cause a parent to have reservations about giving this to their daughter, but they shouldn’t. These issues, truth be told, will one day have to be addressed by every young person, and the manner in which these issues are addressed in this book are not inappropriate but addressed in a caring yet direct manner. They could also be used by the concerned parent to facilitate a discussion on these touchy issues.
The book also has a subject index and other useful and interesting features including an explanation of the gospel and an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
